The Department of Civil and Environment Engineering was chosen as the best department in the civil engineering field in the 2002 Korean Council for University Education evaluation, and in the 2004 JoongAng Ilbo Civil Engineering Program Evaluation, it was ranked 5th nationwide in the professorial research category, 2nd in student education, 2nd in graduates, and 7th in terms of learning environment.
Currently, the department is the only one of its kind selected for Brain Korea 21 (construction technology category).
Also, in addition to its regular curriculum, the program features specialized education programs such as personal character and integrity education, field education, graduation thesis, and practical English courses to help students choose various career paths that may lead them to national or government-led projects, large-scale civil engineering projects, and major overseas projects upon graduation.
