Department of Transportation & Logistics Engineering

The Department of Transportation and Logistics Engineering has produced numerous graduates since it began accepting new students as the Department of Transportation Engineering in 1988. In 2012, the program was reorganized into the Department of Transportation and Logistics Engineering, and today, the department boasts the one of the highest employment conversion rates among engineering schools across the country.
Employment opportunities for graduates range from positions tasked with planning and managing the transportation and logistics systems to operating specific components or tasks within the transportation and logistics chain.
Regarding the transportation sector, the department trains experts in various areas, including road construction, design, construction, etc., which are the basis for building social infrastructure, as well as Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) that include to electricity, electronics, communications, etc. according to demand, economic conditions, and the technological developments required for policy decisions.

With transportation issues emerging as a social problem, the need for transportation experts has greatly increased, and as such, the demand for transportation experts at the central and local government level is rapidly rising.
Graduates of the Department of Transportation and Logistics Engineering later join various transportation-related research institutes, local governments, and specialized technology service companies.
More transportation and logistics experts are also needed in the transportation media field, road and civil engineering companies, large cargo transportation companies, as well as aviation and distribution companies.
In addition, to meet the demand for interdisciplinary and convergence studies, which is a worldwide trend, the department was renamed as the Department of Transportation and Logistics Engineering in 2012. Naturally, its scope was expanded and reorganized from the study of people and cargo to the field of logistics systems to focus on strategic fields of corporate production, inventory, purchasing, and information. Overall, the program combines traditional transportation engineering studies with logistics studies our society needs going forward.
By merging the fields of transportation planning, transportation engineering, and transportation operation with logistics operation engineering, transportation and delivery management, logistics information, and storage and unloading, the department aims to emerge as a leader in the convergence of transportation and logistics required by the nation.
