Department of Robot Engineering
Hanyang University's ERICA Campus has a great reputation both domestically and internationally, and it has technological prowess in the robotics field with national projects working with various industry stakeholders.
With the goal of becoming the best robotics education and research institute in Korea, the department was established in 2013, and was also chosen as the Rainbow Department on campus.
Developing robots require converging and combining machinery, electricity/electronics, and computers into one system.
To this end, the department’s robotics engineering curriculum consists of foundational course as well as advanced courses needed for manufacturing and operating robots.
These courses feature mix of theory and practice, and students are given opportunities to freely handle and research robots at HY-MEC, the department's own student club focused on robotics.
Furthermore, in connection with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology's Robotics Research Group and Gyeonggi Techno Park located on the ERICA campus, the department provides various types of education, including seminars and field learning opportunities so that students can keep up with the latest trends in research.
Graduates can go on to work as researchers and educators specializing in robots as well as leaders in product development, and as policymakers in high-tech industries in national organizations.
